Overview

In an attempt to revive the Hindu faith during the 8th century, a great Hindu philosopher and reformer, Adi Shankaracharya founded the Char Dham Yatra The term “Char Dham” refers to the Himalayan area of Garhwal (Uttrakhand) in the four abodes of God, namely Badrinath, Kedarnath, Gangotri and Yamunotri All of these places are considered by the Hindu religion as highly sacred. Lord Shiva’s house is Kedarnath, Lord Vishnu’s birthplace is Badrinath. Yamonotri is Shakti Yamuna’s goddess, and Gangotri are Shakti Ganga’s goddess. Since ages, all the four sacred places have been visited by people who want to wash away their sins. Even today, they are visited by thousands of Hindu devotees annually during the pilgrim season. Char Dham Yatra in Uttrakhand beginning from the month of April- May, the pilgrim season lasts till the Diwali festival, which is celebrated in the month of October-November.
The Ganges River is the holiest river on the Gangotri Glacier and many other peaks in the Hindu religions and its source in Gomukh. Gomukh is one of the most holy sites for Hindu pilgrims who witness Mother Ganga’s conception. The tour takes you to the mythologic spring of the Ganges River, Gomukh (cows ‘ mouth), at the snout of the Gangotri Glacier.

Day 1

Haridwar – Barkot (5 to 6 hrs) (215 kms)

Drive to Barkot via Dehradun & Mussoorie in the morning after breakfast. Stop for lunch on the way at Mussoorie. Continue your journey and reach Barkot in the evening, on arrival check in to the luxury Swiss tents. Overnight stay.

Day 2

Barkot – Yamunotri – Barkot 42 kms on the road / trek 6 kms.

After an early breakfast leave for Janki Chatti (drive 42 kms). On arrival at Janki Chatti start your trek to Yamunotri (6 kms one side). On arrival at Yamunotri visit the temple for a Darshan of Goddess Yamuna, pray at the temple and take a holy Achman to start your most sacred pilgrimage tour of Char Dham, after Darshan and Pooja trek back to Janki Chatti in the evening, meet with driver and return to the Barkot, Overnight at the Camp.

Day 3

Barkot – Uttarkashi – Gangotri (Drive 182 kms/7-8 hrs)

After breakfast drive to Gangotri via a hill town of Uttarkashi and a beautiful valley of Harsil. On arrival check in to Guest house. By evening visit the temple for Aarti ceremony. Overnight at Guest House.
The Ganges River is the most holy of Hindu rivers and its source on Gomukh Glacier and many others. Holy River Ganges is a sacred river. It is one of Hindu pilgrims ‘ holy places where Gomukh comes to see Mother Ganga’s conception. The trek takes you to Gomukh, the mythological source of the River Ganges, at the glacier snout

Day 4

Gangotri (3048 meters)-Bhojwassa (3792 meters)-Bhojwassa (12440 ft)-13 kms trek/5-6 hours)

In the morning we will go to Bhajwassa via Chirbasa (3600 m) after breakfast From Gangotri we walk along the beaten path to the tree line in Chirbasa Today, the whole trek is on the roaring river Bhagirathi. Outside Chirbasa the land is completely bleak and unfruitful. In fact, many trekkers have called it Artic Tundra. From Chirbasa we trek further to Bhojwassa, the entire trail passes through dense forest, Arrive Bhojwassa; there is a small temple and a potential campsite near down the river. We make our camp near river side. In the afternoon, explore the area and have an excellent sunset on the group of peaks of Bhagirathi. Dinner and overnight stay in tents.

Day 5

Bhojwassa – Gomukh (3890 mts/12760 ft) – Bhojwassa (5 kms one side)

The panoramic view of the Bhagirathi peak group will take you early in the morning. The source of the Ganges after breakfast to Gomukh (3890mt). Gomukh is where the water of Ganga trickles down from the glaciers. The sages called it ‘ Gomukh, ‘ as it undoubtedly seemed like a cow’s mouth in the distant past. Explore the area and trek back to Bhojwassa. Dinner and overnight stay in Guest House.

Day 6

Bhojwassa – Gangotri (Trek 4-5 hrs) – Uttarkashi (100 kms/4 hrs approx)

Travel to Gangotri in the morning after breakfast and to Uttarkashi from here. On arrival check in to hotel. Overnight stay.

Day 7

Uttarkashi – Guptkashi (223 kms. Drive 9 – 10 hrs)

After early breakfast drive to Guptkashi. A late lunch is scheduled en route Molgarh/Tilwara/Ghansali On the way, the heritage town of Tehri is steadily sinking into the mighty waters of the Ganges Holy river, as the Tehri Dam was constructed. Start your ride after lunch and see the stunning Mandakini River today for the first time. Travel by the river late in the evening to Guptakashi. On arrival check in to hotel. Overnight at hotel.

Day 8

Guptakashi – Kedarnath (32 kms Drive, 14 kms trek)

Morning after breakfast drive to Gaurikund (32 kms drive one way). On arrival at Gaurikund start the journey through zig zag route by walk. Take a break for lunch en route at Rambara and continue trek to reach Sri Kedarnath Temple. On arrival check in to hotel/Tourist Bunglow. After freshening up perform Pooja at the temple and Darshan of Shri Kedarnath. In the evening, visit Adi Shankaracharya Samadhi, overnight stay in the hotel, behind the temple.

Day 9

Kedarnath – Pipalkoti (14 Kms trek 145 kms Drive)

After an early breakfast trek down to Gaurikund. On arrival at Gaurikund meet the driver and drive towards Pipalkoti. Arrival at Pipalkoti by evening and check in to hotel. Overnight stay at hotel

Day 10

Pipalkoti – Badrinath (72 kms)

After breakfast drive to Shri Badrinath Ji. Tour of the Narsingh Temple, Adi Sankarachara, and then travel to Sri Badrinath. Enroute to Joshimath Temple. When you arrive at the hotel, take a holy dip and visit the temple. At late afternoon visit Mana Village; Bheem Pul, Byas Cave & Ganesha Cave, the last village in front of the Tibetan border. Later drive back to Badrinath. In the evening one can visit the temple for Aarti Darshan. Overnight at hotel.

Day 11

Badrinath – Rudraprayag (160 kms)

If you want to see the Holy bath of the Sri Badrinath then wake up early in the morning by 03:30 hrs and see the holy bath of the Sri Badrinath Ji at 04:00 hrs. After breakfast drive to Rudraprayag via Joshimath, Chamoli, Nanda Prayag & Karna Prayag. On arrival check in to hotel. Overnight at hotel.

Day 12

RUDRAPRAYAG- Haridwar (135 kms 7hrs)

Drive via Srinagar & Devprayag to Rishikesh after breakfast. The confluence of the Alaknanda and Bhagirathi rivers can be seen from here, which turn into the Ganges. Rishikesh arrivals by night and hotel check in Later visit Laxman Jhoola, stay in the hotel overnight.

In case of cancellation of tour/travel services due to any avoidable/unavoidable reason/s we must be informed in writing. Cancellation charges would be effective from the date we receive letter in writing and cancellation charges would be as follows:

  • 60 days & prior to arrival - 10% of the tour/service cost.
  • 59 days to 30 days prior to arrival - 20% of the tour/service cost
  • 29 days to 15 days prior to arrival - 25% of the tour/service cost.
  • 14 day to 08 days prior to arrival - 50% of the tour/service cost.
  • 07 days & less, prior to arrival or no show - NO REFUND.
